This was a sometimes relaxing, sometimes stressful trip (this is just the way it is when you travel with young kids), but all in all, it was fun and I have wonderful memories.
We picked Greece because we were going to be traveling with Maya 5 years old and Noa 2 years old and we wanted a place where there would be nice weather in October, where we could sightsee a little bit and play (and possibly relax) at the beaches and pool.
We spent just 1 day in Athens with the main objective to see the Acropolis. It was a very nice site to see. Maya and Noa did really well walking around it, since strollers aren't allowed. Athens was nice to walk around the Acropolis and then the National Gardens (where we found the children's playground) and Plaka.
Then we took the fast ferry to Naxos island. We picked Naxos because it is a small island, with St. George's beach being a white sand beach and having calm waters. We didn't want to have to rent a car to get places and staying by St. George's beach we saw that we could walk everywhere we needed (beach, port, old town, restaurants, etc.). Since we went in October there were barely any people, which was really nice. We pretty much had the restaurants, pool and beach to ourselves. While on Naxos we relaxed...we went to the beach and the hotel pool, we walked to the Old Town and the seaside pedestrian street by the port and the Temple of Apollo.
I had a lot of fun and am so happy to be able to travel with Maya and Noa and Satcha.
