Riviera Maya December 2015

December 28, 2015 - January 9, 2016
4 of us ready to goOur 1st family vacation as a family of 4!!! Relaxing, get away from it all and do nothing family vacation!!

For our annual family vacation we were thinking of where to go, and finally decided that we wanted to go somewhere warm, with a pool or beach and not have to worry about planning and making meals. We also wanted to visit somewhere with sightseeing daytrips. So, we decided on the Riviera Maya, Mexico.

We booked the "all inclusive" option, at the Sandos Caracol Resort in Playa del Carmen. We picked this hotel because it had activities for kids. There was an aquapark, kids club and activities that Maya could have fun with, besides just hanging out at the pools and beach with us. It was really a nice complex with beach access, pools and different restaurants. We even got the deluxe room that had a jacuzzi in it. We used it every night for baths!!!

Because we were going to be so close to the US, we told Grandma and Grandpa to meet us there and vacation with us for a week.

The trip there went well. There was a 3 hour delay in Madrid going to Cancun, but Maya and Noa were perfect. Maya played at the airport playground and Noa was happy being held. We finally got on the plane and the girls were great. Both got a little sleep on the plane which helped since we didn’t get to the hotel until 2am. We were all over tired and exhausted from the delay and long flight.

Breakfast on the 1st morningWe were up early every morning and in bed early every night. We went to the pools every day, and enjoyed the nice weather, fun and relax. And we all took turns picking where to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (that was our biggest decision of the day!!). We were so relaxed and enjoying so much, that we didn’t leave the hotel complex to do daytrips. It was nice to just “do nothing”.

Maya at the waterparkOn this trip Maya learned how to play “go fish”, swam in the pool by herself with floaties, got her face painted like a Mayan princess, painted a shirt at the kids club, fed a goat and learned how to play ping pong and foosball.

Noa in the poolNoa went in a pool for the 1st time and she tried spicy food for the 1st time (by accident because I didn’t try it before giving it to her!!!).

Satcha and I got to have some alone time, too, since Grandma and Grandpa were there to take care of the girls. So, we walked along the beach and had lunch by ourselves!!!

It was a fun, relaxing trip that everyone had fun on!!!
